This Privacy and Cookie Policy explains how Wisemind Academy collects, uses, stores, and protects personal information when you use the Practice Tests Academy website (the “Site”) and the products and services offered through it.

We collect two types of information about you.

Personal information you provide

You may give us personal information when you register an account, make a purchase, subscribe to our newsletter, contact us, or otherwise interact with the Site. This typically includes:

• Account login credentials (passwords are stored in encrypted form)
• Billing details and the country you’re purchasing from (your card or PayPal details are handled directly by our payment providers — we do not store full card numbers)
• Any messages or attachments you send us via the contact page or by email
• Your answers and progress within our practice tests, so that we can give you results and you can resume where you left off

You can browse most of the Site without providing personal information. You can choose not to provide certain information, but this may prevent you from using parts of the Site (for example, you cannot purchase a product without providing billing details).

Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site, we and our analytics providers automatically collect technical information such as your IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, the pages you visit, the time and duration of your visit, and the referring website. This is used for security, troubleshooting, and to understand how the Site is used.

We are based in Switzerland. Some of our service providers (in particular Stripe, PayPal, Google, Meta, Microsoft, and Cloudflare) are based in, or may transfer data to, countries outside Switzerland and the European Economic Area, including the United States.

Where data is transferred outside Switzerland or the EEA, we rely on legally recognised safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (where the recipient is certified), and equivalent Swiss mechanisms.

6. How long we keep your data

• Account data: while your account is active, plus a reasonable period afterwards in case you return.
• Order, invoice, and tax records: at least 10 years, in line with Swiss commercial and tax law.
• Customer support correspondence: typically up to 3 years after the issue is resolved.
• Marketing newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe, or after a long period of inactivity.
• Analytics data: typically 14 months in Google Analytics; shorter periods for session-recording tools, in line with their default retention settings.
• Backups: routine encrypted backups may retain copies of data for a short rolling period after deletion from live systems.

7. How we protect your information

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, and destruction. These include encrypted connections (HTTPS), encrypted storage of passwords, restricted access to systems on a need-to-know basis, and reputable hosting and payment providers. No system can be guaranteed 100% secure, but we work hard to keep your data safe.

8. Sharing your personal information

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We share personal information only:

• With the third-party processors listed in Section 4, to operate the Site and deliver our services
• With professional advisers (e.g. accountants, lawyers) where strictly necessary
• Where we are legally required to do so (for example, in response to a valid request from a competent authority)
• With your consent, where you have asked us to share data with a specific third party

9. Your rights

Depending on your location, you have the following rights regarding your personal information:

10. Children’s privacy

The Site is intended for adults preparing for professional accounting qualifications. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
